POPE BENEDICT XVI OWN PERSONAL COLOGNE!

Joining in on all the action Pope Benedict XVI has joined celebrities such as Justin Bieber and Madonna in having his own personal fragrance, made by internationally recognized designer Silvana Casoli. Silvana Casoli is an Italian perfume designer who has created many perfumes for celebrities and under her own founded company.

In 2010 the religious leader approached Silvana Casoli to design his own personal fragrance to create a common man fragrance that evokes Pope Benedict’s love for ‘music, animals and green forests of Bavaria.’ She has also said that “…the Pope’s personality and theological outlook….pure and clean, recalling the idea of peace… the smells the Pope would smell when praying at the Grotto of Lourdes” this being the basis of the smell of his own personal fragrance.

It is reported that Benedict already has his own tailored Prada shoes, matching panama hats, which are being worn out of respect for papal tradition rather than personal taste.

With Casoli being sworn to secrecy about the fragrance, however she has said there are aromas of lime trees, verbena and grass. This fragrance is not available to the general public as Casoli has said “I would not ever repeat the same perfume for another customer.”  Not all of Casoli’s fragrances are sworn to secrecy about all her designs, including “Cannabis” and another titled “Nude.” She has also created perfumes for celebrities such as Sarah Jessica Parker and Madonna.

This is not the first personal scent Casoli has created for the religious. Earlier, she devised two fragrances, “Water of Faith,” and “Water of Hope,” for Catholic pilgrims to Santiago de Compostela, according to the Guardian.
